Capture the attention of newsmakers to score priceless media coverage |
| Updated: August 24, 2010 |
Have you ever wondered how KWWL’s Brady Smith finds his stories for the 5 p.m. newscast? Or how Tommy Lang decides what to discuss on KCJJ? Some stories evolve organically from a reporter’s research and creativity, while others are brought to their attention through public relations. If your PR efforts have yet to result in media coverage, or if you don’t think your business has a story to share, local media experts have news for you.
The Corridor Business Journal’s Gigi Wood, KWWL’s Brady Smith, KCJJ’s Tommy Lang and the Press-Citizen’s Patrick Riepe will provide insider tips on how to garner effective public relations at the Chamber’s Are You Newsworthy? Media Panel from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 22 at the new Iowa City Area Association of Realtors office.
Registration is underway and will close on September 17. The cost to attend this informational seminar — which allows an opportunity not only to network with other area business leaders but also to meet the media experts who may someday construct a story for your business — is $40 for Chamber members and $50 for future members and includes lunch. E-mail rsvp@iowacityarea.com (Subject: Media panel) or call 319-337-9637 to reserve your seat.
