The Education Committee of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations of volunteers, educators, students, businesses and organizations who demonstrate the high quality of our area schools. Excellence in Education nominations can be made in seven excellence categories: student, student team or group, teacher, partnership, volunteer, administrative or support staff, and science and technology.
There is an exciting addition to this year’s award ceremony. The Community Foundation of Johnson County is designating special funding to the teachers selected to receive the 2010 Teacher Excellence Award. Two teachers, one from grades K-8 and 9-12, will receive a $1250 stipend designated for classroom projects and supplies.
