Regional Economic Development Summit slated for April 7

The Chamber invites you to participate in the Regional Economic Development Summit from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 7, the Kirkwood Center in Cedar Rapids. The Corridor Business Alliance and the East Central Iowa Council of Governments have joined together to create a comprehensive regional development plan. Attendees can provide input in guiding and informing the creation of the plan. In addition, the summit will provide ample opportunity for attendees to share their expertise and experiences and to help shape the region’s future.

Individuals and leaders in business, education, and public policy are encouraged to attend to learn more about how policies in areas such as transportation, workforce development, land use and development, and access to capital affect the region’s growth and development. The event is free, but registration is appreciated at www.ecicog.org/attend.

Robert Atkinson, founder and president of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, a Washington, D.C., technology policy think tank, will keynote the event. Atkinson has an extensive background in technology policy. He has conducted groundbreaking research projects on technology and innovation. He is a valued adviser to state and national policy makers, and a popular speaker on innovation policy nationally and internationally.
